We’ve been creating since 2011, making beautiful, fun pieces of jewellery that can be worn every day.

Like most businesses, ours was born out of recognising a need: affordable jewellery that I could actually wear. The same fair, sensitive skin that lead me to start looking for gentler household cleaning options and toxin-free cosmetics also lead me to start designing and creating jewellery that I could wear without being constantly aware of the discomfort of increasingly irritated ear lobes. To my great surprise, our jewellery was incredibly popular when we started attending markets. There were countless other people who also struggled to justify adorning their ears with jewellery they knew would cause inflammation, and who were incredibly excited to find something carefully and thoughtfully made just for them.

So, what about us? We are a family of three: Danny, Skye and Josh. You might have seen us at our Belconnen Shop a few years ago (it has since closed), restocking at Dirty Janes in Bowral, or at markets in Canberra or Goulburn. This is the ‘us’ behind the quirky brand of oh, buttons! Our lives have revolved around creating for as long as we can remember. Danny is a truckie by day (or by night, more accurately) and more recently has been working on his own creative project: Field & Film which lets him express his incredible talent for film, and hopefully (eventually) hang up those trucker’s shorts. Back in the day, he often filled the role of jewellery-maker, salesperson and shop-builder, but as our lives have been increasingly dominated by a very bright and forceful personality (a.k.a., Josh), he’s become better known in his role as dad. Josh is our five-year-old, resident Minecraft expert, and best little mate. He sings constantly (even in the bathroom) and is obsessed with AFL. He’s kind of the reason all of this exists. Skye is the one who makes it happen. The dreamer, designer, and insane human who will spend eight hours hunched over a workbench making jewellery, or carding it up and sorting it into boxes ready to hang on hooks in a order only visible in her brain. The lover of order and method, who still consistently finds herself dejectedly wondering at the constant chaos in her space. Skye has recently finished her Bachelor’s Degree and in doing so, has relinquished one of her many roles, removing student from the list of mum, wife, occasional homemaker, small business owner, and obsessive reader.

We are located in country NSW, in a little-ish town called Goulburn. We make our jewellery here, live our lives here, and enjoy the space and the quiet. Outside of spending our time standing in fields looking lovely (thanks to our friend Sarah Taylor Photography) we work like crazy people, try to remember that rest is good, and drink excessive amounts of tea and coffee.

But that’s enough about us - how about you? We’d love to connect on Instagram. Head over and like our page so we can follow you and stay in contact through the medium of square-cropped photographs and boomerang videos.
